ENGLISH LEARNER SERVICES OVERVIEW

From the Ohio Department of Education website, English learners are students whose primary or home language is other than English who need special language assistance in order to effectively participate in school instructional programs.

North Canton screens all students with the Home Language Survey and qualifying students with the Ohio English Learner Proficiency Screener.  Services are offered to all identified English Learners.  Parents will receive detailed information about the services identified students are provided.

The interpretive guides are designed to help families understand the content of the Ohio State Tests score reports and what the results mean for their students.
