Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer Program for Children (Summer EBT)

.. also known as SUN Bucks, is new in summer 2024. Summer EBT provides grocery benefits to low-income families with school-aged children when schools are closed for the summer. Summer EBT benefits will either be loaded to a household’s Ohio Direction Card or a benefit card will be sent in the mail in a plain white envelope addressed to each eligible child.

Families will receive a one-time benefit of $120 for each eligible child and can use the money to buy food during the summer at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other authorized retailers

If your child(ren) already receives free or reduced priced meals at school, you don’t need to do anything further to receive the Summer EBT benefits.  If you’d like to see if your family is eligible, you can fill out a Free and Reduced Meal Application at any time.

For more information visit Sun Bucks or contact Jill Lauter at jill.lauter@northcantonschools.org.

Summer Meals

Some children don't look forward to summer because school is their only reliable source of nutritious meals.  The Summer Food Service Program meals have a new name, now called SUN Meals!  All children ages 1 through 18 are eligible to receive free meals during the summer months at participating program sites. Individuals ages 19 through 21 who have been identified as having mental or physical disabilities and are following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through their current enrollment in educational programs also are eligible for free summer meals.

The Ohio SUN Summer Meals Site Finder 2024. Check the page weekly for live updates to the map and find summer meals throughout the summer.

Our Point of Sale system is set-up to take credit/debit cards and electronic checks via PaySchools Central and can be quickly accessed by clicking on the PaySchools Central button on the right. This is the same system you would use to make School Fee Payments as well. You do not have to pay online to view your child’s account.  Click on the "PaySchools User Tutorial Video" link on the right for more information or you can call
PaySchools Parent Hot Line at 1-877-393-6628.
