Coordinate and Align Resources to Engage, Empower and Educate youth, family and community

The North Canton City Schools CARE Team (Coordinate and Align Resources to Engage, Empower and Educate youth, family and community) is designed to assist students and their families with nonacademic barriers. The implementation of CARE Teams is comprised of teachers, administrators and staff from multiple community agencies including law enforcement, mental health, alcohol and drugs, and other social service agencies located throughout the county. The team works together in a school-based environment to address challenges facing the at-risk student population and their families.

WINTER COAT GIVEAWAY

NORTH CANTON CLOTHING CLOSET AT NORTHWOOD CAMPUS

We are pleased to announce that the North Canton Clothing Closet will be taking donations starting Monday, August 25. Door #1 at the Northwood Campus (1500 School Ave NE, North Canton OH 44720) 8:00am-12:00/noon. The door will be open on days when school is in session. Please DO NOT leave bags outside of doors. 

Donation Guidelines: 

• We accept new or gently used clothes, coats or shoes that would fit and be appropriate for students in grades P-12. 
• Items must be new or freshly laundered and folded into boxes or bags for donation.
• We ask that you do not donate "event" t-shirts (ex "Rodeo 2016") or personalized clothing (with a person's name printed/ embroidered on it)
• We cannot accept used socks or underwear (but would love new, unopened packages of these!)
• We are also accepting NEW household and personal care items to offer to our families who utilize the closet, such as: Shampoo/conditioner, soap, lotion, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, laundry detergent, dish soap, paper towels, tissues, cleaning wipes, toilet paper, household cleaners, etc.

If you would like to shop the Closet: 

• We will have drop-in "open" Closet the first Friday of the month (except January, which will be open on January 9th) throughout the school year 8:00am-1:00pm and Second Tuesdays 4:00-6:00pm
• If you would like to shop at another time, please contact your Family Support Specialist to set up an appointment.
