ENHANCING THE LEARNING CHALLENGE FOR THOSE WHO ARE READY
"There is nothing so unequal as the equal treatment of all children." - Thomas Jefferson
While all children have gifts, not all children are considered academically gifted. North Canton City Schools understands the need for educational accommodations for those students who demonstrate exceptional cognitive, academic, creative thinking, and or visual/performing arts talent or skills. We are committed to acknowledging and supporting the needs of students with advanced academic abilities. We recognize students who have significant academic and/or artistic skills often have unique learning needs. The North Canton City School District is dedicated to providing advanced learning opportunities to help all learners cultivate their interests and continue to achieve at high levels.
Gifted identification begins as early as Kindergarten for North Canton students. Students who are identified as gifted are offered a variety of service programs and options, including service through gifted intervention specialists, general education teachers, and trained arts specialists.
